Illustration - How to Commit the Perfect Murder

An interactive book for adults on a murderous theme, it is innovative, and humorous, and in a 3 act set.

The book is presented as a 'found' journal/scrapbook, and inside are a collection of fold out 'news clippings' of murders, with 'mugshots' of the murderers, weapons used, and annotations made by the collector.

In the second 'act', the reader is 'discovered' by the narrator/collector, and then taken on a journey of three scenarios. These scenarios are described in detail, with the narrator empathising with the murderer, making notes on the type of killing, and whether the killer had done a good enough job to evade detection.

The third 'act' details how a successful murder could be accomplished, based on what has been learned, with a dramatic twist to the ending

As a stand alone piece, the book has been hand bound with pigskin, to give the reader the impression that they are holding remains of the victim, plaited hair has also been used for book marks. To give the book an old journal feel, I have also learned how to write in copperplate calligraphy using dip pen, scratches and frenzied scribbling have been used in the typography to illustrate manic ravings.
